Trustees

The Boys' Brigade Waikato Charitable Trust is currently governed by three trustees, introduced below...

Chairman - Ross Cochran

Senior Leader | ICONZ Fairfield Hamilton

Automotive Technician, Hamilton

Ross has been involved in some form of BB / ICONZ since the age of 8, in Tauranga, Auckland & Hamilton.  He was Captain of 6th Hamilton in the early 1980's until the Company was wound-up.   Ross and his wife started the Fairfield ICONZ unit in 2007, based at the Fairfield Baptist Church.

Ross has also served on the  Waikato Battalion Executive for several years, is currently on the National ICONZ Ministry Team, and the leadership team of Fairfield Baptist Church.

As the "new kid on the block", Ross joined the trust in 2019 out of a deep respect for the  individuals who formed it many years ago, knowing each of them personally and appreciating the impact on his own life and many others.

Secretary – Ps Dr David Wells D. Min.

Pastor, Ngaruawahia Community Church, Ngaruawahia.

David has been the pastor at Ngaruawahia Community Church since 2005. For much of that time, he has been involved in the ministry of The Boys' Brigade.  David also works part time for Laidlaw College as a distant learning teacher since 2002. He believes it is imperative that as followers of Christ we make every effort to ensure that boys throughout the Waikato region have as much opportunity to grow physically mentally and spiritually in a context that advances God's kingdom in our area.

Treasurer – Glenn Johnson M.Sc.(tech)(Hons).

Senior Leader  | ICONZ Cambridge

Business Manager | Capernwray Bible School, Cambridge.

Glenn greatly valued his time as a youth in the Boys' Brigade from the age of 11, gaining his Queen's Award and then going on to serve as a BB Officer for 10 years. He has also served for several years as staff on the BBNZ National Leadership Development Courses, a past representative on the BB Northern Regional Trust and BBNZ National Executives.  Following a number of years living and working overseas, Glenn returned to New Zealand in 2006 and has since enjoyed being back involved in helping lead the ICONZ unit at his local Church in Cambridge.
